Friday Claire, Kk, and I all went to Madrid to go shopping. Right now all the stores are having there Rebajas (sales or discounts), but lucky for us on friday most people are still at work so the crowds weren't really bad at all. Also it was so nice to finally see Kk and to hear about how things are going with her and her Spanish family. I sort of felt bad though because she still spoke a lot of Spanish while I, I did not unless I was ordering food or something. I got a pair of black flats (that I really needed) and also the cutest moccasins sadly though between buying them and arriving at the university that evening I'd set them down somewhere. That was really bad luck, but I am hopeful to find another even better pair and they were really inexpensive. Oo! Claire and I also bought some movies, I don't know what everyone is talking about because movies here aren't all that more expensive then in the states and also lots of the older movies that are still really expensive in the US are much less expensive here because they aren't as popular anymore. I got Big Fish for like 6 euros and Claire got P.S. I love you also pretty inexpensively. Another really great discovery happened thursday night; Aurora and I were on the way to a jazz concert (which was a little too modern for me but still good) and we just happened to drive past a Movie Club that looked pretty open to me so I may finally be able to rent movies now! Well I think I've spent more then enough time on the internet today so I'm going to go read or something.

Circles
On sundays I do a lot of thinking because nothing is ever open (not even the grocery store), Rocio doesn't get back from her house until later in the evening, and I am pretty basically bored all day. Last night I went with Maria and the others and we made a "hoguera" which is a bonfire and it is part of the tradition for this holiday, that I now cannot remember the name of the Saint we were celebrating. While I think Spanish food in general is just alright (too many unusual animal body parts or uncooked food for me) I have come to really love the food we eat as a group of college aged kids. We always cook everything ourselves and always over a fire, not like on a barbecue, but like in a fireplace. We always have chorizo (which is Spanish sausage) and then lomo or some other sort of beef or something like that. There are no special seasonings or any tricks, just salt and an open fire. I had fun last night, as always I was the first to leave but I think we're all used to that by now :)
