"But my toes just touch the water"

Today has been the most frustrating and yet completely fine day ever. I am not really sure how to explain it, it's like all of these really terribly annoying things keep happening to me as if fate is doing all it can to ensure that I am having the worst day ever and yet my mind is refusing to give in. For instance, just now (for the second time today) I have rushed into my room and torn the sleeve on my brand new shirt that I wore today for the first time. This second time that it happened I thought I was about to cry and yet at that very same moment itunes just happened to start playing one of my favorite songs and instantly my urge to cry disappeared.

Anyways! This last weekend I spent Friday in Toledo and...now I can't think of the name of the other town...with the Conleys, Claire, and KK. That was a lot of fun and we got to see the palace in the second town as well as the wedding dresses of the royal women...which actually weren't all that beautiful but it was still fun all the same. At the end of the day the Conleys left us in Madrid and KK and I went and stayed the night at Claires. Her pretty pizza boy is still working weekends by the way :) Saturday we went to Chinchon and that was definitely a plus. It was really cute and the restaurant we ate at had really good food. Then it was back to Madrid, we shopped a little, went to an amazing flamenco show based on Carmen, and then went out for a little while.

One last thing, I find it amazing that I can live in and be completely content in a place that is incredibly plain (in regards to decor), but it always seems like right at the end that is when I am inspired to really change things up and make things homey. Two examples: a) After being at HU for three years (two of which I lived with the same person) finally our last semester, maybe the end of the second to the last, we went garage shopping and made our dorm room really cute and b) now that I've been here for like six months Rocio and I have just recently been inspired to start decorating our flat...which is just in time for my last two and a half months here...Well, I guess it really is like they say; "Better late than never".
